Tfue pickpocketed again while in Miami for Fortnite Streamer Bowl weekend

The long weekend for the popular Fortnite streamer Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney continues as he announced in a February 1 Twitter post that his phone had been pickpocketed while in a nightclub the night prior.

Tfue, along with a plethora of other Twitch stars and NFL players, participated in the Twitch Rivals Fortnite Streamer bowl this weekend during Super Bowl weekend in Miami, Florida.

On Saturday, the former FaZe Clan player tweeted out that while at a Miami nightclub on Friday evening, his phone had been pickpocketed from him – but he didn’t include any details about the incident, at the time.

Prior to this recent pickpocketing, Tfue shared shots of the interior of the nightclub scene to his Instagram story. Fifteen hours later, he shared the update on February 1 that his phone had been lifted, presumably announcing this news from a new phone.

Responses poured in from numerous other streamers and Fortnite players like TimTheTatman, Jack ‘CouRage’ Dunlop, and benjyfishy, who expressed utter dismay that something like this had happened to Tfue two Miami nights in a row.

The night prior, he tweeted out very late in the evening that he had just been robbed of his Royal Oak AP Arabic Dial diamond watch, worth thousands of dollars. According to Tfue, the robbers had run away with the accessory, but he himself was unhurt.

He was evidently unharmed in this second incident, as well. Having to pay for a new phone and watch is certainly annoying, as is the process of submitting police reports if he chooses to do so, but there’s comfort in knowing that the Fortnite star wasn’t hurt in either of the two back-to-back thefts.

This second incident occurred after Tfue and his Fortnite partner, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, won second place at the Streamer Bowl, winning $80,000 for charity.

The Twitch star took tournament MVP honors for his consistently excellent performances throughout the competition. Tfue and Kyler Murray earned 16 eliminations and an average placement of 7.25.

The two incidents don’t seem to be affecting Tfue’s plans to stay in Miami for the Super Bowl.

He shared on his Instagram a story of Miami Heat basketball player Meyers Leonard showing off a Tfue shirt at his locker room, and more footage from the nightclub of him on stage with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal and rapper DaBaby.

Fortnite Spider-Man Web-Shooters get huge nerf in competitive

Fortnite Chapter 3 is off to a hot start thanks to Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters, but the mobility item is getting a huge nerf in competitive.

Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters have been a game-changer in Fortnite Chapter 3, but Epic Games is about to give them a massive nerf next update.

Fortnite Chapter 3 started off hot with Epic Games adding Spider-Man’s Web-shooters shortly after the start of Season 1. The gloved would give players the power to zip across the map insanely fast.

A fresh pair of Web-Shooters comes with 80 shots which is more than enough for most players. As well, if you eliminate a player with Web-Shooter, they will drop fully charged.

A traversal item this powerful is a must-have for competitive players, but it’s getting a serious nerf. Nerfed already in Fortnite v19.20, the Web-Shooters have been hit again.

Web-Shooters get huge competitive nerf

The Fortnite Web-Shooters were nerfed at the beginning of February as a part of update v19.20. This took the Web-Shooters from 80 uses to 20 in competitive modes.

However, a second nerf lowers the number of times a Web-Shooter can be used even further from 20 to 10. This is a massive nerf as players can only use Web-Shooters for 1/8 of the time they normally could.

However, this nerf only affects competitive players. Web-Shooters in casual lobbies will remain at 80 shots.

Epic Games states the nerf is intended to “encourage players to make more strategic decisions.” While it is still a useful mobility item, players won’t be able to zip across the map as freely as they once could.

The reception this change has garnered is a mix of those in favor and against the nerf. Some players praise the nerf as it will stop players from constantly running from fights.

Those who oppose the change claim competitive is too sweaty without Web-Shooters. Regardless, here’s where you can find web-shooters in Chapter 3.

Fortnite Announces Chapter 3 Season 1 FNCS

Epic Games has officially announced the first Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) event of 2022. Players will have an opportunity to compete in the Chapter 3 Season 1 FNCS for a share of $3,008,500 beginning February 17.

Chapter 2 Season 1 FNCS will have two Qualifiers, followed by two weeks of competition including Semi-Finals and Finals:

Qualifiers (February 17-18, February 19-20)

For this season’s FNCS, the number of Qualifiers has remained the same as the previous event, however, in the new Duos format the amount of teams that can directly qualify for Finals has been increased. The top eight teams from each Qualifier will advance directly into the FNCS Finals.

Semi-Finals (February 24-27)

Semi-Finals will also work differently to the previous FNCS season. For any session, players will now either need to win a game or be one of the top six most consistent teams to advance to the Finals.

Only the top 50 teams from the Series Point Leaderboard will compete during Season 1 in each region. Session 1 is set to consist of give matches, with 11 teams advancing to the Finals. Session 2 will fill the vacant team spots with the 51st-61st teams on the Series Point Leaderboard. This new 50-team lobby will also run five matches and advance 11 teams to the Finals. Session 3 will fill the new 11 vacant team spots with the 62nd-72nd teams on the Series Point Leaderboard. This new 50-team lobby will compete across six matches and advance 12 total teams to the Finals.

Finals (March 5-6)

The FNCS Finals will be held in a similar format to previous seasons, but with the new Match Point variable. A team can end the competition early by earning 500 total points and 3 Victory Royales. Once a team has met both of these thresholds, it will be declared the FNCS Champions. If no team meets both of these thresholds by the end of 12 games, the Finals will play out exactly how it has the past few seasons. Match Point will be extremely challenging to achieve, and is only reserved for a completely dominant performance for the first iteration.#

Prize Pool per Region

  • EU – $1,362,500
  • NAE – $637,500
  • BR – $418,000
  • NAW – $239,500
  • ASIA – $145,000
