SypherPK and Ali-A took home first prize in Lachlan’s Fortnite Fashion Show World Cup with the creative use of a glitched emote.
Lachlan’s $10,000 Fortnite Fashion Show World Cup has wrapped up, and the winners are none other than the biggest names in the competition. Ali-A and SypherPK strung together several rounds of creativity to win the whole event.
The strategy the two had was an interesting one. Their entire competition was based on the glitched “Breakin’” emote in combination with the Jellie skin.
When you use the skin and emote together, the legs go wild. The duo knew this and even threw the first round with the later rounds in mind.
The strategy was simple and effective. Ali-A and Sypher knew that the first round was worth the least number of points, so they punted the “style” round in favor of the wow-factor that this glitched emote would elicit.
In the last round, the pair unveiled the glitch and generated the best pop from Lachlan, but it wasn’t enough to take them over the edge. They ended up tying and had to come back for a tiebreaker round.

The two reworked their story and reused the glitched emote to make sure that Lachlan knew it was intentional. In the end, they walked away with first place and $7,500 in prize money.

The two creators – who are undoubtedly the richest people in the competition – decided to divide their prize money between all of the qualifiers. They didn’t do it for the money – they just wanted to win.
I will be doing the same! Take my half of the prize pool and spread that love to the other finalists as well! Was in it for the entertaining content and awesome moments we had! @LachlanYT @OMGitsAliA https://t.co/gYjyvIIDFA— SypherPK (@SypherPK) January 29, 2020
Sypher and Ali-A both admitted that it felt like they had won the real World Cup when the competition had ended. The stakes were high and the satisfaction was evident.
During the event, Lachlan announced another Fashion Show competition – this time with Trios and for $20,000 in prizes.
This escalation has all the makings of something similar to the Cizzorz Deathruns from last year. They are a popular way to generate content, and we haven’t seen the last of them.
Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event: Everything we know so far
The first live event of Chapter 3 is expected to take place in less than six weeks. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks.
Leaked Map Stages
All future stages for the territories controlled by both The Seven and Imagined Order have been leaked by data-miner Hypex. The maps show the Resistance will retake control of most of the Island, leaving only Command Cavern and Loot Lake for the IO. The final stage will lead the story directly into a live event, with the Imagined Order having little options left for victory.
Leaked Quest Voice Line
Epic also recently added new voice lines for the upcoming Week 6 Quests which, when reviewed closely, appear to tease the main story of a new live event. The Agent Jones character claims “one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production”, seemingly hinting that the new event could be related to Chapter 2 Season 2’s The Device, which was also focused around a “Doomsday Device”.
A transcript of the Agent Jones voice lines can be found below:
“This will not come as a surprise, but IO management loves Doomsday machines – loves them! There’s even a doomsday division at HQ, oh man their softball team is awful but they will one day destroy us all so… kind of a wash. We have very credible intel that one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production. We need to find out everything we can while we still can. Hit the field, I’ll prep the cameras . . . I have a very bad feeling that we are not ready for what we’re gonna find out.”
According to Fortnite data-miner GMatrixGames, a new Landmark code-named ‘DDMachine’ has been added to the game’s tags, suggesting that the Doomsday Device described by Agent Jones could be added to the map in the future.
Less than six weeks remain until the potential live event. We’ll keep you updated with the latest leaks and official announcements.
