Fortnite players have been able to play the new sandbox mode Creative since Dec. 13. It lets you put your creativity to work and build your own island from scratch. Players can also share their creations with friends and the entire online Fortnite community.
And Fortnite players who just play Battle Royale have been given motivation to test Creative in the first challenge of the holiday event 14 Days of Fortnite. Players have to start or join a Creative server to complete the challenge and unlock the spray GG Ornament as a reward.
Here’s how you can easily start or join a Creative server in Fortnite.
How to start a Fortnite Creative server
Players who want to start a server can simply launch Fortnite and select Creative in the introduction screen. Once you find yourself in the Lobby, click the big yellow “Play” button in the bottom right corner, then “Launch” in the window that pops up.
You’ll see the Lobby screen again with the matchmaking queue on that same bottom right box. Wait until you’re automatically redirected to your newly created server. From that point on, you can start building your island or just leave to get your reward.
How to join a Fortnite Creative server
To join someone else’s Creative server, you need to have them on your friends list, and they must be online and running their server when you’re online.
When you see your friend online, click on their name in the lobby. An option to join their server should appear, and after some time you should be redirected to their island.
