‘Fortnite’ Season 9, Week 3 Challenges Revealed And How To Solve Them

Fortnite Week 3 Challenges of the Season 9 Battle Pass are live. Clear at least four of the seven challenges to earn 5,000XP. On this page you’ll find information on the Flying Disc Toy challenge for Week 3, plus a detailed guide on every other challenge. This set was released on May 23, 2019.

See a list of all the Weekly Challenges here.

Free Challenges:

Stage 1: Land a Trick with a Driftboard

To complete this set of Fortnite Week 3 challenges, players will need to complete three stages of vehicle challenges. All of the stages can be seen in the list below.

  • Stage 1: Land a trick with a Driftboard
  • Stage 2: Gets 3s of airtime in a Quadcrasher
  • Stage 3: Destroy opponent structures with a vehicle (3)

The first stage is fairly simple, all you need to do is find a Driftboard and take it to the top of a mountain and fly off. Simply move the joystick around while you’re in the air and you’ll likely perform a trick.

For Stage 2, you’ll need a quadcrasher. The most important thing to do is make sure you are high enough off the ground that you stay in the air for 3 seconds while trying to complete the objective.

For Stage 3, you’ll need to destroy 3 enemy structures with a vehicle. The best way to do this is to find a quadcrasher. Once you’ve done that, just drive around until you see some structures (head to named locations) and then start destroying!

There are currently three main types of vehicles in Fortnite – The Baller, Driftboards, and Quadcrashers. The Baller can typically be found in Pirate Camps and Expedition outposts, while Driftboards are usually found near abandoned vehicles. Finally, Quadcrashers are most often found inside garages or hooked to trailers of RVs.

Search Chests at Lonely Lodge or Polar Peak

This is pretty self explanatory. For this challenge, you’ll need to head to either Lonely Lodge or Polar Peak. To complete the Week 3 challenge, you’ll need to search a total of 7 chests between the two locations.

This challenge does not have to be completed in a single game, so don’t worry if you don’t get them all in one try.

Deal Damage to an Opponent within 10s after Using a Slipstream

This challenge is a pretty easy one and shouldn’t cause players much difficulty. To complete it, you’ll need to deal a total of 200 damage to an opponent within 10s of using a Slipstream.

The easiest place to do this is going to be at a big, named location, like Neo Tilted. Land and quickly grab a weapon, then hop into a Slipstream. Once you see someone, get out and go towards them and let them have it!

This could also easily be done in a different mode, like Team Rumble, where there are lots of enemies in a small space. It is really up to you!

Battle Pass Challenges:

Stage 1: Visit Happy Hamlet and Shifty Shafts in a Single Match

This challenge has a total of 3 stages, each which requires you to visit 2 different named location in a single game. The easiest way to do this is land at one of the locations, then ride the Slipstream or get a vehicle and drive to the next location.

All 3 stages of this challenge can be seen below:

  • Stage 1: Visit Happy Hamlet and Shift Shafts in a single match
  • Stage 2: Visit Sunny Steps and and Dusty Divot in a single match
  • Stage 3: Visit Haunted Hills and Salty Springs in a single match

Throw a Flying Disc Toy and Catch it Before it Lands

This challenge may take a bit, simply because you must get to Battle Pass Tier 35 before you can complete it. The Disc Toy that you need is only unlockable once you reach Tier 35, but once you’ve got it, the challenge itself is fairly simple. If you aren’t to Tier 35 yet, no worries, just complete some of the Weekly Challenges and you should be well on your way.

Once you’ve unlocked the Disc Toy, completing the challenge itself will be rather simple. Hop into a game and find the disc on your emote wheel. Simply throw the disc into the air (aim up) and then run after it and catch it before it lands to complete the challenge.

Explosive Weapon Eliminations

This challenge is always a pain, but it is doable. It requires players to get 3 kills with an explosive weapon.

The best way to do this varies from player to player. However, I would suggest trying to complete the challenge in Team Rumble, simply because there are a lot of enemies in small space and you’re able to respawn. However, the choice is yours!

Deal Damage with Different Weapons in a Single Match

To complete this challenge, you’ll need to deal damage to opponents with 5 different weapons in a single match. Again, this challenge will likely be easiest to complete in Team Rumble, since you’re allowed multiple respawns.

Unless you’re a Fortnite pro, this challenge will likely be difficult to complete in a regular game mode.

Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event: Everything we know so far

The first live event of Chapter 3 is expected to take place in less than six weeks. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks.

Leaked Map Stages

All future stages for the territories controlled by both The Seven and Imagined Order have been leaked by data-miner Hypex. The maps show the Resistance will retake control of most of the Island, leaving only Command Cavern and Loot Lake for the IO. The final stage will lead the story directly into a live event, with the Imagined Order having little options left for victory.

Leaked Quest Voice Line

Epic also recently added new voice lines for the upcoming Week 6 Quests which, when reviewed closely, appear to tease the main story of a new live event. The Agent Jones character claims “one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production”, seemingly hinting that the new event could be related to Chapter 2 Season 2’s The Device, which was also focused around a “Doomsday Device”.

A transcript of the Agent Jones voice lines can be found below:

“This will not come as a surprise, but IO management loves Doomsday machines – loves them! There’s even a doomsday division at HQ, oh man their softball team is awful but they will one day destroy us all so… kind of a wash. We have very credible intel that one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production. We need to find out everything we can while we still can. Hit the field, I’ll prep the cameras . . . I have a very bad feeling that we are not ready for what we’re gonna find out.”

Doomsday Landmark

According to Fortnite data-miner GMatrixGames, a new Landmark code-named ‘DDMachine’ has been added to the game’s tags, suggesting that the Doomsday Device described by Agent Jones could be added to the map in the future.

Less than six weeks remain until the potential live event. We’ll keep you updated with the latest leaks and official announcements.

Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go Unvaulted Until April 25

In preparation for the upcoming item vote, the Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go have both been unvaulted for a trial period until April 25.

Players can now find the items scattered throughout the Island from Chests, Llamas, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks and ground loot. Once the short trial period ends on April 25 at 8AM ET, new gold funding stations will go live in-game on the following day to let players “fund” the item they want to see return permanently (for the rest of Season 2). The item that becomes 100% funded first will automatically be reintroduced to the loot pool as soon as the goal, of which the exact value is unknown, is reached.

We’ll keep you updated on which item gets unvaulted.
