Fortnite Battle Royale is into the second week of Season 9, meaning that players have seven brand-new challenges to complete in the hopes of earning those all-important Battle Stars.
The release of the v9.01 update, which introduced the Tactical Assault Rifle to the popular battle royale title, kicked off the second full week of Season 9, meaning a new batch of challenges are also winging their way to the game.
As usual, there are three challenges that can be completed by anyone who owns the game, while another four are exclusive to players who purchased the Season 9 Battle Pass.
Launch off air vents in different matches
This one is pretty self explanatory. To complete it, you’ll need to launch off of air vents in 5 different matches. This means that it will take a minimum of 5 matches to complete this challenge, however, doing so will earn you 5 Battle Stars.
Air vents are pretty much exactly what they sound like. The best place to find them is at Neo Tilted.
Stage 1 of 5: Land at Snobby Shores
For this challenge, you’ll simply need to land at 5 different locations. You can only do one per game, so once you land at Snobby Shores, you won’t be able to land at the next location until you have finished up that match. You’ll be rewarded 1 Battle Star for each location you visit, for a total of 5 Battle Stars.
Here are all 5 of the stages needed to complete this challenge:
- Stage 1: Land at Snobby Shores
- Stage 2: Land at Fatal Fields
- Stage 3: Land at Sunny Steps
- Stage 4: Land at Dusty Divot
- Stage 5: Land at Happy Hamlet
Eliminate opponents in Sunny Steps or Shifty Shafts
While you’re completing Stage 3 of the previous challenge, you might as well try to get a couple of kills! You’ll need to get a total of 3 kills in either Sunny Steps or Shifty Shafts to complete this challenge, doing so will reward you with 10 Battle Stars.
Battle Pass Challenges:
Deal damage with Pistols to opponents
The first Battle Pass challenge will require you to deal 500 damage to opponents with a Pistol. This will likely be easier to do in Duos, Squads, or something like Team Rumble. Dealing 500 damage will earn you 5 Battle Stars.
In Duos and Squads, you can take advantage of players being knocked to pick up some extra damage. In bigger game modes like Team Rumble, there are so many players running around, it shouldn’t be too hard to deal some damage with to them with a pistol.
Visit an oversized Phone, a big Piano, and a Giant Dancing Fish trophy
This challenge is pretty straight forward. You’ll need to visit all three of these locations- an oversized Phone, a big Piano, and a Giant Dancing Fish Trophy. Visit our complete guide for exact locations.
You can do them in any order and at any time. If you’re trying to do them all in one game, use a vehicle or the wind tunnels to help you get around quicker. Visiting all of these locations will earn you 5 Battle Stars.
Search a chest in different named locations in a single match
This is one of the easier challenges of Week 2 and shouldn’t be too difficult to do. You simply need to search a total of 3 chests at any of the named locations in a single match. If you get 2 and die, you’ll have to start over, so make sure you’re careful! You can search 3 chests in 1 location or 1 chest in 3 locations. It is up to you! Searching 3 chests will get you 10 Battle Stars. Here are all of the named locations in Week 2:
- Dusty Divot
- Fatal Fields
- Frosty Flights
- Happy Hamlet
- Haunted Hills
- Junk Junction
- Lazy Lagoon
- Lonely Lodge
- Loot Lake
- Lucky Landing
- Mega Mall
- Neo Tilted
- Paradise Palms
- Pleasant Park
- Polar Peak
- Pressure Plant
- Salty Springs
- Shifty Shafts
- Snobby Shores
- Sunny Steps
- The Block
Stage 1 of 3: Eliminate opponents from at least 50m away
This is probably the most difficult challenge of Week 2, as it requires you to eliminate opponents from various distances. You can see all 3 of the stages below.
- Stage 1: Eliminate opponents from at least 50m away
- Stage 2: Eliminate opponents from at least 75m away
- Stage 3: Eliminate opponents from at least 100m away
Completing Stage 1 and Stage 2 will each earn you 3 Battle Stars each and completing Stage 3 will earn you 4 Battle Stars, for a total of 10 Battle Stars.
This is a hard challenge and would likely be easiest in a mode like Team Rumble. However, if you’re an expert marksman, you might can pull it off in Solos, Duos, or Squads. Just pick up your weapon of choice (likely a sniper) and have at it!
Also new in Season 9 are Fortbytes, which have been scattered across the map. Players can use our handy guide to locate Fortbytes in Fortnite Battle Royale, but can also unlock one by completing any six of the seven weekly challenges.
