Fortnite Horde Rush LTM leaked – challenges, rewards and more

Following the second major update for Fortnite Season 9, dataminers have been hard at work to uncover some new files and they appear to have stumbled across a brand new limited time mode.

The Fortnite Battle Royale v9.20 update was released on June 6, adding the brand new Storm Flip item to the game. As ever, Epic Games adds some hidden files that are expected to release during the season in a later patch.

Update: Epic Games has now confirmed the Horde Rush LTM with the v9.21 update.

Horde Rush
Fortnite Fiends are back on the island and angrier than ever! Fight alongside your teammates to rack up your score by finding hidden score multipliers, opening special loot chests, and eliminating as many monsters as you can. Traverse across the map, survive all of the Defend locations and take down the Final Boss to win!

Mode Details

  • Four player Squad mode divided up into multiple stages.
  • Prepare to defend an area by searching for weapons & items, scavenging materials, and building defenses.
  • Rack up points by fighting Fiends, collecting score multipliers, and destroying Fiend Spawners.
  • Recover from the battle and search for more equipment.
  • Travel across the map to the next defense point.
  • Respawning is enabled until the last stage when players have to destroy a Boss Fiend and his horde of minions.
  • Keep an eye out for special loot chests, which contain powerful weapons & provide a scoring bonus.

That’s been no different with this update as leakers have already uncovered a whole range of new cosmetics, loading screens, and a possible new weapon. However, the most interesting of all the datamined files might just be an upcoming LTM.

Fans will soon be holding off the horde in Fortnite Battle Royale.

According to popular dataminer FortTory, there’s a new Zombies-based LTM on the way. Labeled as ‘Horde Rush’, the new mode appears to have a Call of Duty Zombies feel to it, as four players travel around the map racking up kills and points.

FortTory also dropped the in-game description for the mode, which reveals that players will open ‘special loot chests’ and defend a number of locations before taking on some kind of final boss as teams compete to set a high score.

The dataminer also released the datamined sounds for the mode, which included hints at beacons as well as different types of creatures – both big and small.

The challenges for the new LTM were also leaked by dataminer Lucas7Yoshi, giving fans an idea of what to expect. The overwhelming majority of rewards come in the form of XP so that you can level up, but there are two prizes that can be used in-game.

For completing any seven of the 11 challenges, players will receive the new Fined wrap for their weapons. In addition to that, a new Horde Rush-inspired loading screen can be acquired by claiming 500 headshots eliminations in the mode.

As ever with any leaked information, it’s best to take things with a pinch of salt. Although dataminers have been proven right on numerous occasions, Epic can always tweak things before the actual release.

Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event: Everything we know so far

The first live event of Chapter 3 is expected to take place in less than six weeks. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks.

Leaked Map Stages

All future stages for the territories controlled by both The Seven and Imagined Order have been leaked by data-miner Hypex. The maps show the Resistance will retake control of most of the Island, leaving only Command Cavern and Loot Lake for the IO. The final stage will lead the story directly into a live event, with the Imagined Order having little options left for victory.

Leaked Quest Voice Line

Epic also recently added new voice lines for the upcoming Week 6 Quests which, when reviewed closely, appear to tease the main story of a new live event. The Agent Jones character claims “one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production”, seemingly hinting that the new event could be related to Chapter 2 Season 2’s The Device, which was also focused around a “Doomsday Device”.

A transcript of the Agent Jones voice lines can be found below:

“This will not come as a surprise, but IO management loves Doomsday machines – loves them! There’s even a doomsday division at HQ, oh man their softball team is awful but they will one day destroy us all so… kind of a wash. We have very credible intel that one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production. We need to find out everything we can while we still can. Hit the field, I’ll prep the cameras . . . I have a very bad feeling that we are not ready for what we’re gonna find out.”

Doomsday Landmark

According to Fortnite data-miner GMatrixGames, a new Landmark code-named ‘DDMachine’ has been added to the game’s tags, suggesting that the Doomsday Device described by Agent Jones could be added to the map in the future.

Less than six weeks remain until the potential live event. We’ll keep you updated with the latest leaks and official announcements.

Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go Unvaulted Until April 25

In preparation for the upcoming item vote, the Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go have both been unvaulted for a trial period until April 25.

Players can now find the items scattered throughout the Island from Chests, Llamas, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks and ground loot. Once the short trial period ends on April 25 at 8AM ET, new gold funding stations will go live in-game on the following day to let players “fund” the item they want to see return permanently (for the rest of Season 2). The item that becomes 100% funded first will automatically be reintroduced to the loot pool as soon as the goal, of which the exact value is unknown, is reached.

We’ll keep you updated on which item gets unvaulted.
