FaZe Clan owner Banks calls Nadeshot a “piece of s***” over Tfue lawsuit

This morning the Hollywood Reporter released a bombshell of a story that says FaZe Clan star Tfue is suing the organization. Our initial article covers that situation in depth and features replies and responses from around the esports and gaming industries.

But this reply directly from FaZe Clan owner FaZe Banks needs to be its own article as it has a lot of points. He tweeted his own response which is covered below, but first he snapped at 100 Thieves owner Nadeshot for tweeting out his piece.

After that response, Nadeshot backtracked a bit apologizing for jumping into the drama.

I’ve done my best to avoid unnecessary controversy and drama over the last few years but my tweets today were an oversight on all accounts. I’d like to apologize to everyone over at the FaZe Clan organization for jumping in unnecessarily.

Banks reply was aggressive and something that will have long-term repercussions for one or both of these esports business moguls. Here is a slightly more measured response from Banks:

Yo this whole thing with @TTfue is pretty unbelievable. The first thing I'd like to say is we do NOT and have never taken 80% of anyones prize money. Not sure where that came from, but a contract like that has NEVER existed. We've collected $0 from Turners prize money. ZERO.

The problem is that Tfue never said anything about prize money. In fact, he confirmed they never took any money from prize payouts just last week which was covered in this article.

From the Hollywood Reporter article: “[Tfue] only gets to keep 20 percent of the revenue from any branded videos that are published on Twitch, YouTube or social media and half of his revenue from touring and appearances.”

That doesn’t sound like prize money, but all the other sources of income streamers and pro players can earn.

FaZe Banks tweet also happily skips over plenty of the other allegations made about the situation. Those include: illegal gambling at FaZe Clan houses, underage drinking and signing an 11-year-old player (H1ighSky1) and pushing him to lie about his age.

Banks tweeted again, bringing up the fact that he actually got “Code: Tfue” tatted on his body.

Banks is still on Twitter, saying “fuck being professional” because Tfue won’t return his phone calls.

The first live event of Chapter 3 is expected to take place in less than six weeks. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks.

Leaked Map Stages

All future stages for the territories controlled by both The Seven and Imagined Order have been leaked by data-miner Hypex. The maps show the Resistance will retake control of most of the Island, leaving only Command Cavern and Loot Lake for the IO. The final stage will lead the story directly into a live event, with the Imagined Order having little options left for victory.

Leaked Quest Voice Line

Epic also recently added new voice lines for the upcoming Week 6 Quests which, when reviewed closely, appear to tease the main story of a new live event. The Agent Jones character claims “one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production”, seemingly hinting that the new event could be related to Chapter 2 Season 2’s The Device, which was also focused around a “Doomsday Device”.

A transcript of the Agent Jones voice lines can be found below:

“This will not come as a surprise, but IO management loves Doomsday machines – loves them! There’s even a doomsday division at HQ, oh man their softball team is awful but they will one day destroy us all so… kind of a wash. We have very credible intel that one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production. We need to find out everything we can while we still can. Hit the field, I’ll prep the cameras . . . I have a very bad feeling that we are not ready for what we’re gonna find out.”

Doomsday Landmark

According to Fortnite data-miner GMatrixGames, a new Landmark code-named ‘DDMachine’ has been added to the game’s tags, suggesting that the Doomsday Device described by Agent Jones could be added to the map in the future.

Reminder that back a few updates ago, a landmark codenamed "DDMachine" was added to the tags, but never added to the map. Bringing this up again, because of IO's Doomsday Division being brought up by Jones in his quest dialogue.

In preparation for the upcoming item vote, the Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go have both been unvaulted for a trial period until April 25.

Players can now find the items scattered throughout the Island from Chests, Llamas, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks and ground loot. Once the short trial period ends on April 25 at 8AM ET, new gold funding stations will go live in-game on the following day to let players “fund” the item they want to see return permanently (for the rest of Season 2). The item that becomes 100% funded first will automatically be reintroduced to the loot pool as soon as the goal, of which the exact value is unknown, is reached.

Fortnite has re-added multiple Item Shop sections to its API, meaning they will be available very soon. Five existing sections have also been removed, suggesting Epic doesn’t plan to bring those Sets back to the Item Shop for a while.
