Every Fortnite v9.30 map change – Loot Lake, Pleasant Park, more

The biggest change to Fortnite Season 9 to date has finally been released, bringing some sweeping new features to the battle royale title and its map is looking a little different too.

The v9.30 update was released on June 18, adding the brand-new Chug Splash item to Fortnite Battle Royale, as the Boom Bow weapon was finally inducted into the game’s vault. In other words, it’s been removed.

In addition to these changes, Epic Games have decided to mix up the appearance of the map itself, seemingly in conjunction with the upcoming Cattus Event. While there hasn’t been any areas removed or added to the map, players who drop into the game will see some marked changes to some of their favorite points of interest.

The new v9.30 update adds some interesting items to Fortnite Battle Royale.

Loot Lake

One of the bigger changes from the recent map update comes at Loot Lake. The monster which had been previously housed under Polar Peak and has since escaped, made its mark on the popular landing spot by destroying the factories to the west.

The long-running wires that link Loot Lake to NEO Tilted, as well as the slipstreams, have been exposed too. So, players can now get a look inside the huge tubes. There is also a footprint from the monster situated by the newly destroyed factories and it’s huge!

Loot Lake has now seen some incredible devastation.

Fortnite’s 14 days of Summer

On a more cheerful note, locations across the map have been given party tune-ups in preparation for the upcoming 14 days of Summer event.

Two areas in particular – Lazy Lagoon and the desert biome – have had items like large umbrellas and lounge chairs dotted around to represent a pool party-like atmosphere.

A heatwave looks set to hit the Fortnite map.

In addition to those, giant beach balls have been dotted around. Like the Baller vehicles, these can be hit around using your harvesting tool. However, we’re not quite sure yet if you’ll do damage by hitting another player with them just yet.

Beach balls have suddenly popped up on the Fortnite map.

John Wick’s house

Sticking with the desert biome, John Wick’s house has been dragged into the future. While the event based around the movie release might well have come to a close, the eastern-based house still remains.

There have been no changes to the structure of the house itself, but if you run to the back you’ll find a brand new set of solar panels like those at Frosty Flights.

John Wick’s house has been given some upgrades.

Pleasant Park

Houses in and around Pleasant Park have suffered some damage, but it’s not quite certain what has caused it.

The modern-looking home, similar to the one that occupies a place near Loot Lake, has been completely wrecked and torn down. A chest may still spawn in the garage, though you’ll have no cover from above unless you decide to bust out some materials.

One of the popular landing spots at Pleasant Park has seen better days.

With a number of these changes coming alongside whatever destruction the monster is set to inflict on the map, more tweaks and updates may appear in the future.

Keep your eyes locked to FortniteCrypt for the all latest updates as we’ll be sure to keep this post up to date with any other further changes.

Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event: Everything we know so far

The first live event of Chapter 3 is expected to take place in less than six weeks. Here’s everything we know so far, based on various leaks.

Leaked Map Stages

All future stages for the territories controlled by both The Seven and Imagined Order have been leaked by data-miner Hypex. The maps show the Resistance will retake control of most of the Island, leaving only Command Cavern and Loot Lake for the IO. The final stage will lead the story directly into a live event, with the Imagined Order having little options left for victory.

Leaked Quest Voice Line

Epic also recently added new voice lines for the upcoming Week 6 Quests which, when reviewed closely, appear to tease the main story of a new live event. The Agent Jones character claims “one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production”, seemingly hinting that the new event could be related to Chapter 2 Season 2’s The Device, which was also focused around a “Doomsday Device”.

A transcript of the Agent Jones voice lines can be found below:

“This will not come as a surprise, but IO management loves Doomsday machines – loves them! There’s even a doomsday division at HQ, oh man their softball team is awful but they will one day destroy us all so… kind of a wash. We have very credible intel that one of the IO’s Doomsday devices is now in production. We need to find out everything we can while we still can. Hit the field, I’ll prep the cameras . . . I have a very bad feeling that we are not ready for what we’re gonna find out.”

Doomsday Landmark

According to Fortnite data-miner GMatrixGames, a new Landmark code-named ‘DDMachine’ has been added to the game’s tags, suggesting that the Doomsday Device described by Agent Jones could be added to the map in the future.

Less than six weeks remain until the potential live event. We’ll keep you updated with the latest leaks and official announcements.

Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go Unvaulted Until April 25

In preparation for the upcoming item vote, the Boogie Bomb and Rift-To-Go have both been unvaulted for a trial period until April 25.

Players can now find the items scattered throughout the Island from Chests, Llamas, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks and ground loot. Once the short trial period ends on April 25 at 8AM ET, new gold funding stations will go live in-game on the following day to let players “fund” the item they want to see return permanently (for the rest of Season 2). The item that becomes 100% funded first will automatically be reintroduced to the loot pool as soon as the goal, of which the exact value is unknown, is reached.

We’ll keep you updated on which item gets unvaulted.
